ABOUT 7 PRINCIPLES

A rabbi and a pastor sit down to write a book. What sounds like the setup to a punchline actually holds great meaning to the authors of the new book Seven Principles for Living Bravely: Ageless Wisdom and Comforting Faith for Weathering Life’s Most Difficult Times, now available in paperback and eBook.

The book is the result of a friendship between Rabbi Denise L. Eger of California and Rev. Dr. Neil G. Thomas of Texas who met frequently via Zoom during the darkest days of the COVID-19 pandemic to confide in one another and discuss the challenges of ministering to their congregations when lockdown measures prevented them from meeting.

The frightening years of the pandemic and turbulent times that followed have caused great upheaval in the lives of millions of people worldwide. Seven Principles for Living Bravely brings together universal truths of faith and wisdom compiled from two lifetimes of ministering to religious congregations, giving readers a comforting framework to make sense of it all with smart tips for getting through difficult periods of life.

Seven Principles for Living Bravely gives readers the tools to weather life’s most difficult times, from trauma to pandemics, from gloom and grief to expectation and delight – by using and mastering the timeless interfaith principles and practices of Mourning, Truth, Rest, Love, Prayer, Joy, and Hope.
